Member Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern your membership with Find An Organiser Pty Ltd (FAO) and The Professional Organising Academy (referred to as “The Organising Academy) (TOA) . By becoming a member, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Code of Conduct.

1. Governing Law

Membership is subject to applicable laws. FAO/The Organising Academy may update these terms at any time by publishing the revised version on the website. Continued membership indicates acceptance.

​

2. Your Business Listing

You confirm all submitted information is accurate, current, and lawful. You are responsible for maintaining certifications, insurances, and legal requirements. Listings appear within three business days of receiving your completed application and payment. Unlimited edits are allowed via email. Members are independent operators, not employees of FAO/The Organising Academy.

3. Eligibility

You must provide truthful business information, hold a registered ABN, maintain Public Liability Insurance, and comply with the Code of Conduct.

​

4. Payments & 5. Pricing

Membership fees are billed monthly or annually via a third-party processor. Pricing will be displayed at purchase and may change with at least 28 days’ notice. Fixed-term membership pricing will not change during that term.

​

6. Refunds

Refunds are limited and may be provided if applications are declined or exceptional circumstances prevent continuation. Contact support for requests.

​

7. Renewals & 8. Termination

Membership automatically renews unless cancelled. FAO/The Organising Academy may amend, suspend, or terminate listings or membership at any time for breaches of terms or the Code of Conduct. No compensation applies.

9. Cancellations

Cancel in writing with at least 14 days’ notice. Membership remains active until the end of the billing period. Insufficient notice may result in additional charges.

10. Commission

FAO does not charge fees or commissions for client engagement via the website.

​

11. Confidentiality

Both FAO/The Organising Academy and members agree to keep confidential information private unless required by law.

​

12. Privacy

Member data is protected under the Australian Privacy Principles. Information is not sold or shared without consent.

​

13. Pausing Your Membership

Members active for at least 12 months may request a pause of up to 60 days once per year with 14 days’ written notice. Membership resumes automatically at the end of the pause. FAO/The Organising Academy is not liable for lost access during the pause.

Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct

Membership and CPO Certification requires adherence to our Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct, promoting a professional, respectful, and inclusive community.

CPO Code of Ethics

The Certified Professional Organiser (CPO) Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct sets the minimum standards of conduct required of all accredited individuals and Academy Members. By obtaining and maintaining CPO Accreditation or a current business Membership, individuals agree to comply with this Code at all times.

1. Integrity and Professional Conduct

Accredited individuals and Academy Members must:

  • Act with honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all business dealings

  • Represent their services, experience, and capabilities accurately

  • Avoid any misleading, deceptive, or unethical conduct

2. Client Confidentiality and Privacy

Accredited individuals and Academy Members must:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information

  • Protect personal, sensitive, and household information obtained during service delivery

  • Comply with applicable privacy laws and obligations

Confidential information must not be disclosed without the client’s consent unless required by law.

3. Competence and Scope of Practice

Accredited individuals and Academy Members must:

  • Operate within their level of training, knowledge, and experience

  • Not provide services outside their professional capability

  • Seek additional support or refer where appropriate

 

4. Professional Responsibility

Accredited individuals and Academy Members must:

  • Deliver services with care, diligence, and respect

  • Maintain clear communication with clients

  • Honour agreed timelines, commitments, and service expectations

5. Ethical Business Practices

Accredited individuals and Academy Members must:

  • Provide clear and transparent pricing, agreements, and service terms

  • Avoid false, exaggerated, or misleading claims

  • Conduct business in a fair and lawful manner

 

6. Respect and Professional Boundaries

Accredited individuals and Academy Members must:

  • Treat all clients with respect and professionalism

  • Maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries

  • Provide services in a safe and respectful environment

 

7. Accountability

Accredited individuals and Academy Members must:

  • Take responsibility for their work and professional conduct

  • Address complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner

  • Cooperate with any review or investigation conducted by The Organising Academy

8. Compliance with Laws

Accredited individuals and Academy Members must:

  • Comply with all applicable Commonwealth, State, and Territory laws

  • Maintain all required licences, registrations, and insurance

​

9. Breach of Code

Failure to comply with this Code of Ethics may result in:

  • Suspension or revocation of CPO Accreditation

  • Removal of rights to use CPO Accreditation assets

All decisions made by The Organising Academy in relation to breaches are final.

​

Members Must Not:

  • Make false or misleading statements or engage in illegal/offensive conduct

  • Reproduce copyrighted materials without permission

  • Represent themselves as employees or agents of FAO/The Organising Academy

​

Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of membership without refund.

​

Professional Standards

CPO Professional Standards

The CPO Professional Industry Standards Framework defines the expected standard of practice for Certified Professional Organisers. It establishes a consistent benchmark for professionalism, service delivery, and ethical conduct within the organising industry.

1. Professional Practice

Accredited individuals and Academy Members are expected to operate a structured, reliable, and client-focused business, including:

  • Clear service offerings and processes

  • Professional communication and presentation

  • Consistent delivery of services

​

2. Business Integrity

Accredited individuals and Academy Members must demonstrate:

  • Honest and transparent business practices

  • Accurate representation of services and qualifications

  • Ethical decision-making in all client and business interactions

​

3. Client Experience

Accredited individuals and Academy Members are expected to deliver a high standard of client experience, including:

  • Respectful and professional engagement

  • Tailored solutions based on client needs

  • Delivery of services aligned with agreed outcomes

​

4. Confidentiality and Trust

Accredited individuals and Academy Members must:

  • Handle all client information with discretion and care

  • Maintain confidentiality across all interactions

  • Foster trust through professional conduct

​

5. Consistency of Service

Accredited individuals and Academy Members are expected to maintain consistent standards across:

  • Service delivery

  • Communication

  • Client interactions

​

6. Accountability and Responsibility

Accredited individuals and Academy Members must:

  • Take responsibility for actions, outcomes, and business practices

  • Maintain appropriate systems, processes, and documentation

  • Address issues or complaints professionally

​

7. Risk Awareness and Professional Judgement

Accredited individuals and Academy Members are expected to:

  • Identify and manage risks within their scope of work

  • Operate within their capabilities

  • Exercise sound professional judgement at all times

​

8. Industry Contribution

Accredited individuals and Academy Members are encouraged to:

  • Support the advancement of professional standards within the industry

  • Represent the profession positively

  • Contribute to raising awareness of best practice

​

9. Nature of the Framework

The CPO Professional Industry Standards Framework:

  • Defines expected standards of professional conduct

  • Does not replace legal or regulatory obligations

  • Is applied at the discretion of The Organising Academy

​

10. Enforcement

Failure to meet the standards outlined in this Framework may result in:

  • Review of accreditation status

  • Suspension or revocation of CPO Accreditation

All determinations made by The Organising Academy are final.

CPO Accreditation is not a course or membership.
It is a formal recognition of individuals who meet a defined standard
